Tina Kraft grew up in the Midwest town of Brunswick, Ohio. She equates her parents’ first date at the Cleveland Museum of Art as a defining moment, sealing her fate to becoming an artist. She began her college career as a mother of four young children and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Florida Atlantic University. She went on to study at the New York Studio School under the atelier of Graham Nickson. In 2010, she moved to New York City to attend the school full time and earned her Master of Fine Art in 2012. Kraft lives with her husband in Hobe Sound Florida where she paints from direct observation the varied landscapes of the coastal southeast and other locations on her travels. She also works from the figure, drawing or painting it. Kraft teaches painting at the Lighthouse Art Center in Florida. She is a recipient of the 2023 Mercedes Matter award from the New York Studio School. Her work has been in various solo and group shows in New York, California, and Florida.
